~Sunday Drive~

On Sunday when we were driving home from church this is what we saw! This beautiful Bald Eagle just was sitting in a very small tree which totally looked odd as you were driving by. All you so was a big black blob sitting in a tiny tree. But when you stopped and were to look carefully this is what you would see. It was awesome just to see one out in the wild. We have only seen one's that are captive.

~Christmas Day~

Merry Christmas to everyone!

This year Santa brought the kids a Wii. The kids were so excited to play it that they didn't want to even eat breakfast. Wyatt said "maybe I should start fasting" and I said "Ok, does that mean you are going to go all day without food?" "NO, just breakfast I'll eat lunch in about an hour after I get my workout" Kids just say the craziest things. If you know how Wyatt eats you know he can't go that long without food. That kid has to hollow legs. After opening presents we had a great breakfast together then we started to get ready for the drive down to see our family. First, we went to the Pickett's, which after we got there and Shawn's sibling were all there we really didn't want to leave to head to our next party. There is nothing like sitting around and just talking and hanging out. Second, we went to the Willis' party. Of course there is always those who arrive 30 minutes late then that throws our whole plan off. (Shawn and I always have a plan or schedule that we "try" to follow because we don't like to drive Sardine canyon in the dark. To many deer down low this time of year) We enjoyed a great dinner together then opened gifts from Grandma and Grandpa. What would Christmas be like if Grandma Debi actually gave the right gift to the right child? hmmmmmm I don't know!! My dad had given each of us a book he had put together of my Grandma Belle's life history. It is amazing! It will be something that I will always cherish. After that we started our ride home. The kids were anxious to get home since they didn't get an opportunity to play the Wii before we left. They are very used to this drive but boy did we hear "How much longer?" to many times that day.

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas and may you your New Year be bright!!

~Gingerbread Houses~

The Willis Gingerbread Fiasco! Every year we get together at Grandma and Grandpa Willis' house to make these. It's a tradition that we have done since I was a little girl and now we have passed it on to our children! The kids look forward to this every year!
But I think we do more eating of the candy than we do of actually making our Gingerbread houses! Good thing we use a really gross frosting or else.......... I don't want to know!!

~Adult Fondue Party~

What do we say about the Pickett Fondue Party? Let's just say it brings out the best in all of us!

Here's one! He just loves his picture taken ;)

Same about this one to!!!

I didn't take very many pictures that night but this is one that I enjoyed! Shawn, being the little devil he is, had drawn Kim's name for Christmas this year. As you all may know this is very crucial. Everyone always wants Shawn's to draw their name for Christmas. About 3 years ago Shawn started to make SKP's for who ever's name he drew. Well, can I say that there is one sister-in-law that has made out very well from this. Shawn's two sister's every year pray that he gets their name but one finally got what she wanted. But Shawn had to be a little stinker about. He gave Kim a little Diet Coke bottle with a gift certificate for an SKP attached to it. She thought that that was her gift until Shawn stood up and went and grabbed another wrapped present. Of course after she opened it if you were to look at Karen she was crying. After all she does deserve one since they share a birthday and everthing. But we won't get into that.

We always look forward to this party every year! To see who brought the worst white elephant gifts, Keith's amazing cheese fondue, and listening to the boys rag on each other. But most of all I love just to listening to everyone talk and laugh as we sit around the table enjoying a dinner with each other!!

~Pickett Grandchildren Party~

The kids look forward to this party every year! Hanging out with there cousins and Grandma and Grandpa. First, they enjoyed lunch at McDonald's then we came back to Aunt Kim's house and made Snowmen out of pretzels and white chocolate. I think we all wanted to just keep dipping our pretzels in the white chocolate instead of decorating them! We missed having Maiya at the party but we are glad that she is feeling a lot better now!

Mckaylee received a jewelry making kit from her cousin can I just tell you that that totally made her day. She loves to make jewelry.

Mr. Wyatt received a Bionicle from his cousin also. I don't get boys sometimes but there is just something about these Bionicle's that they think are "So Awesome"

Wyatt and Mckaylee's Birthday

For Wyatt and Mckaylee's birthday we took them and their friends down to Fat Cat's. We had a blast. Grandma and Grandpa Pickett were able to come up and join us for a little while. We loved seeing them. It just happens to be the Ashlyn and Kaden are brother and sister and are best friends with these two. We all played a game of bowling while enjoying some pizza. Later we played some serious arcade games!

~CoRn DaYs~

Saturday we went to the American West Heritage Center "Corn Days" it was beautiful weather. It is so worth the money to go and do all of the fun activities. We had spent over 4 hours there.

~SuPeR SliDe~

Shawn being a kid as usual.

Pony Rides! If you look at Wyatt's face you can actually tell that he is singing.

Mckaylee made a corn husk doll of course since it was " Corn Days"

Shawn and Wyatt husking corn.

It's amazing how society has changed after going to a place like this and letting your child participate in activities that farm children used to do. It makes me want a farm that much more.

~OuR PuPpY~

So the name is............Shelby!
She us awesome. I would say to get a second dog when you have one that is already trained. Shelby has done an amazing job but she is Daddy's little girl!

She's Already Daddy's Little Girl :)

If you all haven't noticed we are calling her "Her" a lot. We still don't have a name for her so if you have any suggestions PLEASE let us know!! She is lot's of fun and Lady loves her too! We were worried about how Lady would be with her and once she realized she wasn't going in her motherly instincts kicked right in!

~BeAr WoRLd~

Ok! If you ever get the chance to head up north stop by "Bear World" We paid an extra $20 to do the Curator's Tour. When you do this you get to ride in this big truck to feed the Elk and Bears. It is so much fun. Of course if you travel with a Pickett you can count on it raining or should I say a down pour. Yes, it was overcast but not raining at all until the Pickett Family decided to get in a big truck and do something fun. While feeding the animals it rained BAD but as soon as it was over(45min later) it stopped. Anyways, the kids had so much fun doing this. The bears would sit up and clap their hands for food. The guide would start saying "Time to get up Bears" and they would crawl out from all over. The funniest was to watch the bear cubs chase each other and see who can get there first. It was great to do together as a family!

~ThE PetTinG ZoO ~

The Petting Zoo @ Bear World was fun. The kids were able to pet the deer, goats, funny looking chickens, but their favorite was the Potbelly Pig. It made the weirdest grunting noises. There was also big Moose. As you can see in the picture that it was laying right next to the Fence. Shawn walked right up and stood next to the fence and the Moose could care less. It was fun!!\

Idaho Falls Temple

Shawn and I decided last minute to take a short family vacation over the 24th of July. We went up to Idaho Falls and Rexburg. We have heard many things about "The Falls" that run by the temple. It was absolutely beautiful. The kids loved just sitting next to the river listening and watching the falls. We did a little Geocaching around the area but mostly walked up and down the falls to see everything. I suggest that if you ever drive through Idaho Falls, stop, it's right next to the freeway and is beautiful.

Swimming at Willard Bay

The kids and I meet my parents at Willard Bay to go swimming and sailing. It was a beautiful day. We spent about an hour sailing around the an hour alone just swimming around in the water. The kids are fish when they are in the water. We loved driving down and meeting them. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Willis

Together for Eternity

August 8,2009 ~ It was a cold, raining morning in Logan Utah. The Pickett household was calm and quiet until a knock came on our bedroom door. When I opened the door there was two beautiful children standing there with HUGE smiles on their faces. I was still groggy, not quite awake and all they wanted to tell me was "Today We Are A Family For Eternity". It brought tears to my eyes when I finally had realized that this day had come for our family. Through tragedy, trials, but most importantly through Prayer and Faith we kneeled at an alter, tears in our eyes, smiles on our faces, we were sealed for Eternity. The room filled with many family members and friends to experience this with us even made it that much better. The kids will never forget this day and are true "Angels". Thanks to all of you for your support and love. We love you all!!

Clinton Heritage Days 5K and Fun Run

We Survived!!! Christie and I had lots of Fun! The morning didn't start out as we would've like it. First, I didn't sleep well that night. Nerves I guess. Second when I got there the lines were forever long and they did not have it organized. The race was supposed to start at 6:30am and it didn't start until about 7:20. So of course the sun was out by then and it was HOT. I finished the full 3.6miles in about 31 minutes. So I am excited that I beat my time by 2 minutes. Christie kicked my butt of course. But Yes she Rocks!! Thanks Christie for letting me run with you!!

Family Time!

Shawn and I have been so busy lately that we decided after church on sunday to go up to Black Smith Fork Canyon. We discovered a small shallow pool of the river that the kids could play in and we could try and get the dog to do some swimming. If you know anything about labs you would know that they love water, but our dog does not. Go Figure! But we are working on this. We had a great Family Home Evening while we ate our lunch. We love to spend time together as a family!

Cache Valley Cruisin' Car Parade

Here is a slide show of a few cars that were at the parade. There was so many that I couldn't put all of them into the show. This is a fun thing to do as a family. We packed us a dinner and went and enjoyed a nice car show. It is a lot easier to go to this then walk around the car show all day.

July 4th in Cache Valley

We were invited by some friends to go up to the Lewiston Parade saturday morning. So we woke up thinking that we didn't need to get there to early because if you have ever been to Lewiston you know that it is very small, so the parade will be short and sweet. Well, we were totally wrong. I think all of Cache Valley was there. I have never seen so many people fit into such a small town. We did have lots of fun and got lots of candy. In one of the pictures it shows Shawn's imaginary barn. One day he would like a farm of his own, but for now this will have to do.
