Summer Fun

We had a great summer of watching my friends kids 3 days a week.  We consider them part of the family. Wyatt and Micah are brothers!!  Seriously, they would just wrestle all day.
One of Wyatt's BFF's Kolton.  Hanging out at the pool!!
RSL FANS!  We love going to RSL games!!
One of my favorite nephew!  Loved hanging out with them for a week this summer!
This was for Father's Day!  We had a slip and slide out for the kids, it was 90+ degrees outside and they wanted to sit in the hot tub!  CRAZY!
Shawn is the 11yr old scout leader and this is a flag they decided and I sewed it and put it together!!
Brigham City Open House!!!  It was beautiful!  Loved the Peach blossom theme!  The kids are excited to twelve this year and go back and do baptisms for the dead!!

The injury from heck!  This is has been such a struggle for me!  The end of August I was standing in my garage just arriving home from a ward party and Shelby our 80 lb dog came running around the corner into the garage and before she could stop she took me out!!  Literally took me out!  I have never felt so much pain before in my life.  I believe child birth didn't hurt this bad. After a long weekend and being able to get into the othopedic on Monday, MRI that night (painful) and result Tuesday afternoon, the conclusion was a torn PCL.  Yes, that is the most difficult ligament to tear in your knee.  It runs down the back of your knee opposite of the ACL.  When the doctor told me no surgery I truly felt blessed. It has been a very difficult ordeal.  With the torn PCL  I also ruptured my bursa.  The bursa hold your knee cap.  Shawn and the kids have been truly amazing.  I couldn't get through the day without them.  My neighbors and friends have also been amazing.  It's been a true humbling experience.

~Monkey vs Owl~

In the last 3 weeks I have made so many different kinds of hats but the most popular are the Sock Monkey hats and the Owl hats! The three above are some that I made for Aunt LuAnn's grand kids. Way to much fun!
I had a friend that wanted a owl hat with pom poms for the ears! What do you all think? I do have a blog for all my hats if you would like to see them! www.hugsbymugs.blogspot.com

Wyatt has been so excited to play football this year!! He is playing Left Guard (for those of you who don't know football that is on the defensive line) We played Kaysville on Saturday and won 26-13. Wyatt had a great game! He had some big key tackles.

He is also on the kick off team. Does he look ready to play or what???

~Patriot Border Run~

On the 4th of July the kids ran the "Kids Mile". They had a lot of fun and I think that there were more excited to get a t-shirt and a number pinned on their shirt then to actually run!
Mckaylee woke up not feeling to well but she wanted to do it anyways! Good job!

Myself and Heather and Robert Stephenson ran the 10k. You start in Lewiston and run to the Utah/Idaho border (get it patriot border run) I think I had more cow poo on my shoes than I did when I did the Dirty Dash! Heather and Robert live down the street from us and are our very close friends. We all go to boot camp together! It's great to see how far we have come over the last year!

The two of us!

Found this picture of Mckaylee and I from my sister in laws baby shower! Mckaylee and I have formed a great bond this last year. Don't get me wrong we do have days that she drives me nuts but I am very proud of her and the decisions she makes!

Cub Scout Day Camp

The leader from the other troop dared me to race her down the BMX track! Hello! Don't Dare ME 99.9% of the time I will do it! The boys were sooo excited to see us race!

and we're off!
I had a huge lead! Well, guess what? It didn't last long! Totally crashed it on the last turn!
I am holding up my hands in the air and saying "Rock on". My cub scouts came running down the hill to see if I was alright. I was laughing so hard I was crying so they weren't quite for sure if I was hurt or not! We had a great time with all of our cub scouts!

Smithfield 5k

Here is just a few of us from Boot Camp that ran "No' yo' Mamma's 5k & Half marathon! It was brutal. Most of it was up hill!!

~Our Garden~

Here is our attempt at our first garden. We have planted corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, cauliflower, radishes, radishes, carrots, and strawberries and radishes. Did I say radishes? Shawn wants tones of radishes. I'm afraid they may overtake the garden. We also planted some pumpkins underneath the trampoline. Let's see how those do! But every morning Shawn waters it and makes sure it's ok!

~Webelos Overnighter~

Wyatt and Shawn went to their first Scout camp out together on Friday. When they came home Saturday, Wyatt's expression on his face was hilarious. All he could say was "Mom, that was the best camp out EVER!". Later after talking with Shawn, he said the boys stayed up till midnight just laughing and talking around the fire with their dads.
Should I be scared? Totally!!
"The Famous Daisy Bike" Shawn to Wyatt "It takes a real man to ride a girls bike"

~Ogden Temple~

On Friday April 1st, 2010 my immediate family had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Ogden Temple one last time before the reconstruction began. Well, of course when you are planning to attend the temple something always has to go wrong. Shawn and I left early from our home to make sure we were there on time. If you knew my dad, being on time is a HUGE thing for him. As we came out of Sardine Canyon we were noticing a lot of traffic getting off the freeway. Approaching the overpass to get on the freeway we notice traffic was at a complete standstill heading southbound. Oh Great!!! was all I could think. We turned around and headed for the old highway to see if we could get around the accident. Fifteen minutes later we made it 2 miles. Crazy? YES! it took us that long to turn around on the overpass and make it back to the light to turn onto the old highway. After sometime, I was starting to get frustrated, upset, and just plane mad. How often do you get the opportunity to have your WHOLE immediate family in one sealing room together? Not very!! My family (parents, sibling and their spouses) were all meeting at 6 pm to get a picture then do 80 names for sealing at the temple. Well, Shawn and I pulled into the parking lot at 6:25 having 5 minutes to change and be ready. We made it!!! Was all I could think at that time. As I entered into the temple, it was amazing the overcoming peace I had knowing that I was here for a reason. That reason came later as I sat with my family taking part in such a strong spiritual event. To see that look on both of my parents faces, knowing now that both of their fathers are sealed to their parents for eternity. Was worth it all. I knew many of the people and names that we had done! Which made it that much more meaningful. I am so grateful for the gospel and the atonement.

~Spring Break~

So it's spring break and horrible weather. Do you remember in high school when it was spring break and the weather was always perfect? Why can't it be that way when you're a mom? Seriously, I'm loving that I get to spend so much time with the kids and family but I would really love a day to just play outside without it being so cold! Or even blown over due to these horrible winds! Spring break started out great hopefully it ends that way!
